Paris Ceramics could not resist breathing new life into quintessential English flint, pairing its primal geology with contemporary fabrication. We hand-select nodules for tone, translucence and the classic conchoidal fracture, then knap, saw and calibrate them into slabs and English flint wall tiles, with select ranges offered as interlocking modules for seamless fields.
Faces may be left hand-knapped for a lively, faceted read or precision dressed, honed or polished for quieter uniformity. Edges and corner returns are produced in-house to maintain continuous lines. Locally sourced from southern chalk belts and made alongside Norfolk master flint-knappers, our flint retains its dark, glassy lustre while meeting modern tolerances and repeatability.
Ideal for feature walls, fireplaces and exterior detailing, English flint is a sustainable, tactile surface that feels both ancient and current. Our R&D continues: we’re developing new treatments and pairings, including flint combined with pyrites, to extend the palette and possibilities.
(NEW TEXT)
As part of the English Flint collection, this material is intended for projects that need texture, shadow and a distinctly British architectural character. The fractured faces can read almost black in some lights, while the chalky outer skin gives each piece a pale edge and natural contrast. Used across a chimney breast, entrance wall, bar front or exterior detail, English flint wall tiles create a surface that feels ancient without becoming rustic.
For fireplace settings, this material can be considered alongside Fireplaces, especially where a dark, mineral surround or feature wall is needed. You may also find our blog about this product of interest, as it dives deep into the artisanal techniques and how to work with flint.

This is a surface for designers who want control without losing irregularity. The calibration makes English flint wall tiles more suitable for contemporary specification, while the hand-knapped character preserves the force of the original stone.
