Antique Yellow hexagonal terracotta tiles are hand-made clay tiles from the Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Provence regions of France. This terracotta is up to three hundred years in age.

The distinctive shape and great colouration have made this a much-loved floor throughout France and now the world.

Typically, the tile is reclaimed from country houses, but it is also found in a wide range of historic structures.

Antique Yellow Hexagonal Terracotta is usually found in 15 or 20cm (6” or 8”) tiles, but like all hand-made antique materials, size can vary. The thickness varies around 2.5cm (1¼”).

Because reclaimed terracotta varies in colour, size, thickness and surface wear, careful sorting and dry laying are important before installation.
