Antique Red hexagonal terracotta tiles are hand-made clay tiles from the Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Provence regions of France. This terracotta is up to three hundred years in age.

The transitional shape and great colouration have made this a much-loved floor throughout France and now the world. Typically, the tile is reclaimed from country houses, but it is found in a wide range of structures.

Antique Red Hexagonal Terracotta is usually found in 15 or 20cm (6” or 8”) tiles, but like all hand-made antique materials, size can vary. The thickness varies around 2.5cm (1¼”).

Because reclaimed terracotta varies in tone, size, thickness and surface wear, careful sorting and dry laying are essential before installation.
