Cotswold limestone floor tiles are cut from an open-grained limestone from the Cotswolds in England. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use in most climates, this stone starts out in tones of light honey. As Cotswold patinas, salmon and grey tones appear. Warm and classic, Cotswold offers a rich and comfortable ambience to any décor. Many consider Cotswold to be the quintessential English country cottage floor. Yet it has also been used in many of the grand houses of Middle England.
Cotswold Limestone is available in approximate size: 40 x 40 x 2 cm.
Slab, custom sizing, cutting and texturing are also available.
Length: 40 to 60. Thickness: 2.5. Width: 40. Finishes: Diamond Rubbed, Dished and Distressed, Distressed by Hand, Honed.
Cotswold Limestone has a particularly English warmth. Its honeyed base tone gives interiors a mellow architectural softness, while the salmon and grey patina that develops over time brings depth, variation and a sense of quiet age. It is a stone that feels equally at home in a country kitchen, entrance hall, garden room, terrace or more formal interior where restraint is more important than spectacle.
As part of our Limestone Floor Tiles & Rare Stone Floors collection, Cotswold limestone floor tiles belong to a wider family of stones selected for provenance, durability and long-term surface character. The available finishes allow the same material to move from clean and honed to more tactile, distressed and timeworn.
For other kinds of limestones, see Aged Limestone Floors, Antiqued Bushmilled Limestone, Colourwashed Limestone Floors or Antiqued Dished and Distressed Limestone.
Cotswold Limestone is especially useful where a project needs the comfort of an English stone floor with authentic material presence. Its open grain, warm tone and adaptable finishes make it a quietly enduring choice for traditional and contemporary settings alike.
