Metallic Ceramic Tiles with Elegant Impact

Paris Ceramics’ Glazed Ceramics Metallics collection brings together two classic European references in a refined, design-led palette. These metallic ceramic tiles combine architectural rhythm, reflective depth and a controlled decorative finish for interiors that need quiet impact rather than excess.

The collection is designed for spaces where light, surface and proportion matter. Rather than shouting for attention, these tiles introduce shimmer, structure and a subtle metallic glow that changes as the room changes throughout the day.

Inspired by The Paris Métro

The range includes 7.5 × 15 cm bevelled tiles inspired by the Paris Métro, offering clean rhythm and architectural definition for kitchens, bathrooms and feature walls. This classic format brings order, repetition and surface clarity, making it especially useful where designers want reflection without visual noise.

For historical context, RATP notes that the Paris Métro corridors were decorated from 1900 with bevelled white tiles in the 7.5 × 15 cm format, a reference that continues to influence architectural tile design today.

Echoes Of Verre Églomisé

Alongside the bevelled formats sit 15 × 15 cm square tiles influenced by antique verre églomisé, reimagined in elegant silver and gold tones to introduce a soft metallic glow and a sense of depth.

The Corning Museum of Glass describes verre églomisé as a decorative technique in which gold or silver leaf is applied to the reverse side of glass, creating a surface associated with reflection, ornament and historic craftsmanship.

Structure, Shimmer And Surface Depth

Used alone or layered together, these formats let designers balance structure and shimmer, creating surfaces that feel timeless without becoming ornate. The bevelled tiles bring architectural rhythm, while the metallic tones catch light in a way that can feel cool, warm, restrained or quietly glamorous depending on the surrounding materials.

As metallic ceramic tiles, the collection offers a useful bridge between classic tile-making and contemporary surface design. The result is decorative, but not loud. Reflective, but not hard. Distinctive, but never overpowering.

Suitable For Residential And Commercial Interiors

Select metallic finishes are enhanced with PVD coatings, improving durability through increased scratch resistance, UV stability and antimicrobial performance. This makes the collection well suited to high specification residential and commercial interiors, including wet and demanding environments.

These tiles can be used for subtle feature walls, decorative kitchen backsplashes, bathroom surfaces, bar fronts, fireplace surrounds and hospitality interiors. Silver tones can feel cool, architectural and restrained, while gold tones bring warmth, softness and a more luminous decorative character.

Pairing Metallic Ceramic Tiles with Other Materials

The strength of this collection lies in balance. Used with stone, timber, plaster, marble or painted joinery, Paris Ceramics’ metallic ceramic tiles can add a layer of depth, craft and quiet glamour to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

They sit naturally alongside other decorative and architectural surfaces, including Metal Tiles, Ceramics Hand Painted, Plain Glazed Tiles and Mosaics.
