From its very beginnings, Paris Ceramics’ quest for new and unusual products led to the company’s great interest in the reclaiming and relaying of antique limestone, marble and terracotta floors.
Today, we are leading experts in the field, finding period floors in country houses, châteaux and farmhouses throughout Europe and beyond.
Reclaimed Marble Floors with Provenance
Each floor is bought individually and transported to our workshops, where it is painstakingly cleaned to remove accumulated grime. It then has to be carefully sorted and adjusted to fit the proportions of its new home.
No modern tiles can reproduce the patina of time, which enriches the colours and textures of antique floors. Each one is highly individual, as of course, no two floors are exactly the same.
Paris Ceramics aims to keep a broad range of these floors in stock at all times, and visitors are welcome to view these by appointment at our warehouse in France.

Marble Refined by Age
As antique reclaimed marble flooring, these surfaces offer a particular kind of refinement. Marble carries a cooler, more formal character than limestone or terracotta, yet when reclaimed, its elegance is softened by age, wear and historic use.
Edges become gentler, surfaces develop depth, and tonal variation gives the floor a sense of quiet permanence.
Black and White Marble Floors
Black and white reclaimed marble floors are especially effective where a room needs rhythm, contrast and architectural clarity. A chequerboard layout can feel classical, graphic or quietly dramatic depending on scale, finish and surrounding materials.
In period houses, it can feel completely at home. In contemporary interiors, it can bring structure and historical weight without feeling overly decorative.

Historic Marble Floors with Patina
The appeal of reclaimed marble lies in the balance between luxury and restraint. It is a noble material, but its antique surface prevents it from feeling too polished or new.
Old marble floor tiles can carry traces of previous buildings, old thresholds, former halls and long use, giving each installation a story that newly cut stone cannot easily imitate.
