Antique Delft Various Mixed – Ceramics

Antique Delft Mixed Tiles with Collected Narrative

Antique Delft mixed tiles bring together blue-and-white pictorial ceramics, each tile carrying its own figure, bird, animal, flower, landscape or small narrative scene. Rather than forming one continuous picture, the composition works through accumulation. Differences in scale, subject and corner ornament create a collected surface with the irregular rhythm of historic Delft tile arrangements.

The restrained palette allows the motifs to lead. Some tiles are sparsely painted, while others use fuller borders or larger central subjects. Together, the antique Delft mixed tiles read like a ceramic archive, inviting the eye to move from one vignette to another without imposing a fixed sequence.

A Varied Blue-and-White Ceramic Archive

The design draws on Delftware and European blue-and-white ceramics, where individual images become part of a broader decorative field. This mixed arrangement works well where a wall benefits from detail at close range, including chimney breasts, framed wall panels, decorative wall bands and library alcoves.

Delft-Inspired Hand-Painted Ceramic Panels

Within our Custom Hand-Painted Ceramic Panels collection, Paris Ceramics specialises in bespoke painted compositions designed to transform walls, splashbacks and interior features through image and ornament. Starting with a handmade tile base – available with a white crackle glaze or subtle colour-wash backgrounds – each new panel is conceived and painted to order by skilled artists.

These panels offer more than decoration: they provide a narrative tailored to the character of a space. From neo-classical symmetry to mediaeval motifs, pastoral scenes and playful naïve styles, designs may be adapted from the archive or developed from a client brief.

Panels can be scaled for a kitchen splashback, bathroom enclosure, fireplace surround or feature wall. Clients may collaborate with the artists on subject matter, colour palette and level of detail, creating a made-to-order installation with its own visual identity.

The result is a decorative ceramic surface that reflects its setting and the client’s intentions, bringing craftsmanship, design and storytelling together.
