Iron Stone
Quarried from the Jurassic beds of central England, Iron Stone is steeped in history and grounded in warmth. Its rich, ferruginous tones — a spectrum of honey, amber, and russet — come from natural iron oxides that lend the surface a quiet metallic depth. Over time, the stone mellows beautifully, developing a soft patina reminiscent of old Cotswold manor floors and the time-worn façades of Oxford’s colleges.

Dense yet workable, Iron Stone takes a variety of finishes — from honed and brushed to deeply antiqued or bushmilled — each revealing a different character within the grain. It is ideal for interiors that seek authenticity and a sense of permanence: grand halls, kitchens, cellars, and entranceways where natural variation becomes part of the design language.

At Paris Ceramics, we select blocks with balanced mineral content and subtle tonal movement, ensuring that every floor feels alive underfoot. Iron Stone pairs harmoniously with oak, bronze, and lime plaster, bridging rustic tradition and modern restraint.
