Antique Dalle de Bourgonge kichen
These flagstones are reclaimed from properties in the Burgundy region of France, an area almost as famous for its stone as for its wine. This is a very hard stone. Originally produced by splitting the stone into regular shapes rather than by sawing it. It was then finished by hand. The unique patina of the stone derives from the original natural beds in which the limestone formed, during the Jurassic period. The stone often contains iron and other oxides, which lend the stone its attractive earth-tone colorings. Antique Dalle de Bourgogne varies from beiges and warm coppers to medium and dark silvery grays. The flagstones are laid in a truly random fashion. A typical random floor will have reclaimed size pieces that vary. This floor can range in thickness from 1” to 1-1/4”. Sizes and colors vary to ensure that no two floors are identical.
